About

df_mascota_trix3

My real name is Tracey, but you can call me Trix. Everybody else does these days.

I have been a writer, researcher, and editor for more years than I care to divulge, at least until we know each other a bit better! I love writing about everything from tech to business to health, and I have a passion for food and travel.

I was the lead researcher for award-winning Random House biographer Laura Claridge; I’ve written for consumer publications including Reader’s Digest International, the Toronto Globe & Mail, & TheKitchn.com; I was the food & drink editor at the Urbanite; & I’ve developed original recipes for magazines &  private clients.

For seven years, I created B2B content (white papers, articles, presentations, and eBooks) for a software design consultancy. I did a brief stint in corporate America as a content writer in the marketing department of a major restaurant supply company.

I am passionate about research, learning, thinking, & crafting engaging, accessible stories, no matter how esoteric the topic.

I have an advanced degree in English literature. I went to culinary school. I have cooked in a granola bakery and a Middle Eastern restaurant. I used to do kung fu and play the drums. I’m teaching myself acoustic guitar. I love Yoga with Adriene, Sherlock Holmes stories, true crime, K-drama, J-horror, K-horror, and Jane Austen. Oh, and I read — a lot!

Have something you want me to write about? Need to inject a little sparkle into your content? Or maybe you just need someone to clean up your copy? Contact me and let’s talk!
